At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Toshiba announced their entry into Google’s Chromebook series. Running Chrome OS, Google’s Chrome browser-powered OS, the new Chromebook will sport a 13.3-inch display, and it’s the first Chromebook to sport a display of this size. The Toshiba Chromebook will be powered by the extremely energy efficient Intel Haswell chip; Toshiba says the Chromebook will deliver battery life of 9 hours or better, which should be enough for all day use for most people.
The 13.3-inch display has a resolution of 1366 x 768 and the device weighs 3.3 pounds. The Chromebook also has 16GB of SSD storage, 2GB of RAM, and dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi.
Eager customers will be able to get their hands on the new Toshiba Chromebook for $279 starting on February 16th.
